Sísnce (Little Brother)

In 2022, representatives and carvers from several Columbia Plateau tribes gathered on the MAC campus to carve two traditional cedar dugout canoes. One of those canoes, Sísnce ("Little Brother"), became part of the MAC's permanent collection. This working canoe was launched on the Spokane River at Plantes Ferry Park on October 1, 2022, during a community celebration attended by carvers, families, and community partners.

In January 2025, Sísnce was placed on display at the museum's Riverside Avenue entrance, where it welcomes school field trips and other organized groups arriving at the MAC.
