America on the Move

The human story is a story of movement, and the American story is no exception. Drawing from the MAC's permanent collection, America on the Move explores themes of human movement — migration, immigration, seasonal rounds, and commuting. Where have we been, and where are we going? From prints and paintings to multimedia installations, the works in this exhibition each offer their own answers and opportunities for reflection.
The exhibition features works by 20th- and 21st-century artists such as Humaira Abid, Ruben Trejo, Ric Gendron, and Jacob Lawrence, alongside a rare opportunity to see multimedia installations by Patrick Zentz and Willem Volkersz that have not been on view in decades.
